OVERVIEW
Trusted Scholarly Dissemination Channels
The SWS Scholarly Society is built upon a broad international network of academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration. Working across Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Earth and Planetary Sciences, our community brings together researchers, institutions, and professional partners who contribute to the exchange, dissemination, visibility, and advancement of knowledge across disciplines. With more than 15,000 members worldwide, SWS reflects the strength of multinational and interdisciplinary cooperation in shaping meaningful scientific and cultural dialogue.
Over the years, this network has grown through sustained collaboration with academies, universities, research centres, and a wide range of national and international institutions, alongside museums, galleries, and other cultural organizations. These connections have helped create an environment in which established scholars, keynote speakers, young researchers, and emerging talents can engage in productive dialogue and benefit from shared scientific and creative exchange.
A major step in this development came in 2019 with the launch of the SWS scientific online library, created to strengthen the accessibility, dissemination, and long-term visibility of peer-reviewed research. Today, this digital repository provides access to more than 25,000 scholarly articles spanning Earth and Planetary Sciences, Social Sciences, and Arts & Humanities, offering a reliable platform for the global distribution and discovery of scientific knowledge.
In parallel, SWS introduced three open-access scholarly journals — Earth and Planetary Insights (ISSN 2960-5970 Online; 2960-5962 Print), Societies and Sustainability (ISSN 2960-5997 Online; 2960-5989 Print), and Art and Humanities Reflections (ISSN 3061-0052 Online; 3061-0044 Print). These journals further support the dissemination, discoverability, and long-term accessibility of high-quality academic research, providing dedicated publication platforms for studies in Earth and Planetary Sciences, Social Sciences, Sustainability Studies, and the Arts & Humanities.
All journals follow international publishing standards and support open scientific communication and long-term accessibility of peer-reviewed research.
As we continue to expand our international reach, we remain committed to building a strong and trusted scholarly environment in which collaboration, openness, and interdisciplinary exchange can flourish. We believe that the future of research depends not only on excellence within disciplines, but also on the reliable channels that enable knowledge to circulate across borders, institutions, and fields of inquiry.
